Each sale can involve dimensions, sash layouts, opening directions, frame extensions, glass options, colours, accessories, technical drawings, document templates and a manufacturer-specific order format.\n\nWhen this information is distributed across spreadsheets, sketches, catalogues and partner files, every handoff creates delay and another opportunity for error. The client needed a system that could capture product knowledge once and reuse it throughout the commercial and operational process.\n<h3>What had to change<\/h3>\n<ul>\n \t<li><strong>Fragmented product knowledge:<\/strong> Rules and options were difficult to maintain consistently across separate tools.<\/li>\n \t<li><strong>Repeated manual entry:<\/strong> Dimensions and selections could be retyped for drawings, documents and orders.<\/li>\n \t<li><strong>Complex technical products:<\/strong> Multi-sash layouts and accessories required structured, position-specific configuration.<\/li>\n \t<li><strong>Partner-specific output:<\/strong> Each manufacturer could require different fields, codes, payloads or file formats.<\/li>\n \t<li><strong>Limited traceability:<\/strong> Offer revisions, configuration changes and order activity needed a reliable history.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>A single connected workflow<\/h2>\nTechGeni designed the platform around one shared data model. Product definitions drive the configurator, configured project data drives documents, and the same validated data is transformed for the selected manufacturer.\n<ol>\n \t<li><strong>Catalogue and rules<\/strong> \u2014 reusable product structures, attributes and options.<\/li>\n \t<li><strong>Project and version<\/strong> \u2014 customer-specific configurations with revision history.<\/li>\n \t<li><strong>Visual configuration<\/strong> \u2014 guided data entry with a live technical drawing.<\/li>\n \t<li><strong>Documents and validation<\/strong> \u2014 consistent output generated from current project data.<\/li>\n \t<li><strong>Manufacturer dispatch<\/strong> \u2014 partner-specific data prepared for API, XML or file-based delivery.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nThe key design decision was to model reusable business rules before automating individual screens. This foundation lets administrators extend attributes, layouts, templates and partner mappings without turning every operational change into a new software project.\n<h2>An attribute-driven product foundation<\/h2>\nRather than building a fixed form for every product, TechGeni created an attribute-driven platform. Administrators define reusable attributes, option sets, product categories, build types, sub-products, document fields and manufacturer mappings. Many day-to-day changes therefore become administrative work rather than separate development projects.\n<h2>Visual product configuration<\/h2>\nThe flagship configurator turns complex technical selections into a guided sales workflow. As dimensions and options change, a live SVG drawing updates with sash geometry, opening symbols, frame extensions and millimetre measurements. Each build type defines which sashes exist and how the preview behaves.
